Privacy policy
Last updated
This website is operated by ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information the site collects, why, how long it is kept, and the rights you have under Oman's Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree 6/2022) and its Executive Regulations.
What we collect
We collect the smallest amount of information needed to respond to you:
- Appointment request form: your name, mobile number, age, the reason for your visit chosen from a short list, your preferred date and time of day, and whether the patient is under 18 (with guardian details where needed).
- Contact details you send us by WhatsApp, phone or email when you get in touch.
- Analytics data: If enabled with your permission, optional analytics collects limited technical and usage information. It is not used for advertising. Appointment-form fields are not included in our custom analytics events.
The appointment form deliberately does not ask for medical details. Health information is a special category under Omani law, so we ask you not to include medical details in the form. Dr. James will ask about your health at your visit.
Why we use it
- To respond to your appointment request and arrange your visit.
- To contact you about your enquiry by phone or WhatsApp.
- To improve the website, only where you have accepted analytics cookies.
We do not use your details for marketing lists, and we do not sell, rent or share your information with advertisers.
Legal basis
We process your information because you asked us to (appointment requests and enquiries), with your consent (analytics), and to meet legal and regulatory obligations that apply to medical practice in Oman.
How long we keep it
Appointment requests and enquiry correspondence are kept for 12 months by default, then deleted, unless a longer period is required by law or an ongoing matter.
Where it is processed
The website is hosted on Vercel. Form submissions are delivered by email through our email provider to the practice inbox. Analytics, where consented, are processed by Google Analytics. These providers may process data outside Oman; we use them under appropriate safeguards for that purpose only.
Your rights
Under Omani data protection law you can ask us to:
- Confirm what personal information we hold about you and provide a copy.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete information where the law allows.
- Withdraw consent for analytics at any time, through the cookie settings link in the footer.
To use any of these rights, contact the privacy contact at omanjamesp@gmail.com or call +968 9751 0975.
Cookies
Essential storage keeps the site working. Analytics cookies load only after you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. See the banner text for what each choice means.
Children
This site may be used to request appointments for patients under 18, but the form must be completed by a parent or guardian, who gives consent on the child's behalf.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
